Volunteers at the Austin Community Landfill

Texas Master Naturalist Vernon Berger (below) came out to help care for the Bee Garden at the Austin Community Landfill. His help was much appreciated. Drop an email tobeewatchers@mac.com if you’d be interested in helping care for (probably) the only Bee Garden at a Landfill in Texas! (June 10, 2009)

Bees in the Urban Landscape

In The Key of Bee - An article about Dr. Gordon Frankie’s urban bee work in Berkeley. It’s not about Texas native bees in particular, but is a great article about native bees in the urban landscape. It also has great photos by Rollin Coville. (posted 6/6/09)

  • Thanks a bunch for visiting the new 2010 version of the Texas Bee Watchers website. I try to post photos of bees and plants to help you learn about the native bees of Texas. I also provide links to other sites that provide information on native bees. Since I'm not all that good at doing websites–I'd rather be out watching bees and planting gardens–I appreciate your comments.
