I know that the weather is going to change any day and native bees are going to start making their appearance, so for the last few days I've been reading about native bees. I spent many an hour exploring the National Biological Information Infrastructure website.
There's nothing basic about this site. The list of universities, federal, state, and local agencies, non-profit groups, international agencies, and other organizations with a biological bent is pretty large and includes information from organizations you'd not readily think of searching.
While it is generally easy to navigate around the site, finding the first link to take you to Pollinator information would be easy to overlook. On the Home page, find the navigation bar at the top and click on Ecological Topics. Scroll down to Pollinators, get your sandwich and chips, a cool drink, and just start clicking.
You will find extensive information on different genera of native bees from many University Extension services, types of pollination, educational resources, research, and on and on. Click on everything and have fun.
