This list is compiled from all of the plants which compose each of the 52 Official Certified Bee-Friendly Gardens as of 3/16/11. It is not complete at all. I am in the process of completing the list for the first 13 gardens. This list is not the completed list! I'm posting just to let you know I AM working on it.
It includes plants which are particularly attractive to native bees as well as other plants which are planted in the 52 Gardens, but may not be attractive. Note: As of 03/16/11, this list is woefully incomplete. Give me time. There are still errors in the native/nonnative list, as well as a many conflicts with names. There are many incomplete listings. I'm working on them. When I post an update, I'll include the date.
Number of Official Certified Bee-Friendly Gardens included as of 3/16/2011: 13
If you are starting a garden from scratch, you MAY be able to use this list to help you choose plants for your Bee-friendly Garden.
The list (when completed) includes the Common and Scientific names, whether the plant is native or non-native, the general location of the garden, and a link to the plant (for natives) on the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center website. I'll probably be adding a "Bee-Friendliest" checkbox as well. The LBJ Wildflower Center link provides growing information, blooming times, etc.
52 Gardens Plant List (3/16/11)
This is not the only Plant List on this website. Click on PLANTS in the Navigation Bar to see other lists. This list is compiled from gardens from the 52 Bee Gardens: 52 weeks Challenge only.
Once this list is a bit more complete, I'll use it as a list to test for "Bee-Friendliness."
